how to get my 3 month old on a set schedule?
Hello everyone out there!!! I have the most wonderful 3 month old son anyone could ever ask for. He is such a joyful baby and he brings such love to my life.... BUT.... I cannot for the life of me, get this child on a set sleep/nap schedule! I don't know what I'm doing wrong or really how to even go about this?!?!? I do try to lay him down around the same times during the day but that doesn't work.... he really will only sleep soundly either in my arms...my bed... or his car seat... but not in the crib. He sleeps for about 3 hours a night in his crib or 1/2hour for a nap during the day in his crib... but will sleep entire night in my bed??? what is that about??? Please help us... my husband is out right now (1:37am) driving him around to get him to bed... (without me holding him) this has to end soon.... please tell me it will!

i put my son on a schedule when he was around 10 weeks old .. i started with feeding .. he was already feeding around 4 hourly , so i went with that , he got fed at 7 am , nap at 9 till 11am . fed at 11 am nap at 1 pm till 3 pm . fed at 3 pm then awake till 630 for his night feed bed at 7 pm , and fed when needed during the night ..
the feeding was the easy part
getting him to sleep was HARD .. i started with letting him know when he was going to get a nap , that meant bringing out his bed time teddy and pacifier, i would leave him alone in the lounge room for about 5 mins with them , then put him in his cot
He now knows tht when he gets theses things it bed time .
during his sleep times , he would not go out of his room , if he was crying , i would go in to settle him but we stayed in the dark room . If i couldn't get him to settle after 20 mins of trying , i brought him in to the lounge room for 10 mins , then back in to the room . Some times a short break is all you need , for both of u ,
