feline cat pregnancy?
I found a very very nice momma cat who was a stray and pregnant. So I brought her into our home and set up our kids 4 person tent downstairs and gave her litter box, food, water, bed, comforter, a fan ect. She is very pregnant with a very rock hard stomach. Looks like she swallowed a large softball. How many days would you estimate she has before giving birth. How do I know. She is secluded in our finished basement in a 10x12 room of her own. Please help get me answeres.
Be ready to expect still born kittens? Wow what a bold statement. You have truly suceeded in upsetting me. You are basing your comment on what? If a homeless woman is pregnant and living in a shelter does that mean her child will be still born or have complications? What a huge assumption to make. I pray that they are all fine and happy and healthy babies. Does anyone know how much it would be to have a vet look at her and tell me?
First off its very kind of you to take her in when she needs someone to comfort her the most,
this is how i came to have my very first cat i just couldn't turn my back on her,and by what you say she sounds very pregnant so she is near the birth and they do look like they have swallowed a soft ball that's how i describe a cat who is very close to birthing so you have given me a good description so i can help,
check to see if her nipples have changed a darker shade of pink as this is a big clue and also look to see if her milk is coming,
and her waters should be breaking around now so check to see if it has already as she will have a soggy behind if it has,
but if it hasn't it will and soon it will either dribble out or come out in one go in a sack,
and watch how she behaves too as a cat in labour will pace about and become very restless and pant and miaow as each contraction happens,
and you should be able to see the kittens moving about and her tummy contracting with each contraction,
and a cats labour can last anything from 12 hours to 24-32 hours with a few hours between the birth of each one being born,
and i cant see why they should be still born either as each pregnant stray i took in had healthy kittens who thrived so don't worry,
and her birth is so near now and the fact she has turned up now prooves it, she knows the birth is near so she came looking for safety and you have given her just that so thankyou for showing her human kindness,
so they should be born in around 2-5 days by her description.
